Hawkeye Wrestling Club member Nathan Burak placed second at the Paris International at 97 kg/215 lbs.  Burak had a great run to the finals where he won his first match 7-2 over Wladimir Remel of Germany.  In the semifinals, Burak won a dominate 10-0 Tech Fall over Maxime Francois of France.  In the finals, Burak dropped a 7-0 decision to  Ivan Yankouski of Belarus to claim the silver.

This is the first competition for Burak since finishing his career as a three-time All American at Iowa at 197 lbs. last season.  An impressive showing for Burak in his international debut on the senior level.

Bobby Telford dropped two matches in the tournament at Hwt.  In the first round, Telford lost 11-0 to Geno Petriashvili of Georgia.  In the second round, Telford lost a 1-1 criteria match to fellow American Zach Ray.  Telford was a three-time All American at Iowa at Hwt.

Hawkeye Wrestling Club member Nick Dardanes downed Michael Asselstine of Canada, 9-0 in the first round.  Dardanes then lost to America wrestlers Jimmy Kennedy, 2-0 and B.J. Futrell, 10-0.  Dardanes was an All American for Minnesota.

Former Iowa wrestler Tony Ramos of Sunkist Kids/Tarhill RTC lost to Jason Ness of Minnesota, 7-4.  Ramos then won by a forfeit over Iuri Seimaken of France and was awarded the bronze.

I will keep up to date with Hawkeye Wrestling Club members competing in the upcoming International season.
