Iowa Wrestling recruit Jacob Warner of Washington, IL has accepted an offer to compete for Team USA vs. Pennsylvania All Stars in the Dapper Dan Classic.  This is a prestigious event to me named on the USA All Star team.  The dual meet will take place on Saturday, March 25 at 5 PM CST at the Fitzgerald Field House on the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA.

This is the forty-third annual dual meet of Pennsylvania vs. an USA all star team.  They call this:

                                              The Rose Bowl of Wrestling

Warner is rated as the number one wrestler in the country at 195 lbs. by every publication that I have seen.  After winning titles in Fargo in 2015 as a sophomore, Warner had a quick rise in national prominence this past year.  Warner won both the Freestyle and Greco-Roman titles at the Cadet World Team Trials in dominating fashion.  This past fall, Warner placed third at the UWW Cadet World Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Warner is a member of the outstanding Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2017 and is projected to compete at 197 lbs. for the Iowa Hawkeyes.  Even with all of the accolades that Warner has received, I still believe he is underrated as an incoming recruit.

I will keep you posted on if Warner’s teammates in the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2017 Spencer Lee and Max Murin, both from Pennsylvania, compete in this dual as well.

You can watch the dual meet live on FloWrestling.
