Iowa Wrestling recruiting commit Anthony Cassioppi recorded two falls in winning the InterMat JJ Classic in Rochester, MN at Hwt on Saturday.  Cassioppi pinned Ezayah Oropeza of Rosemont in :48 in round two before pinning Brandon Floyd of Tartan in :17.  The InterMat JJ Classic drew in some of the top wrestlers from around the country.

Cassioppi gave his verbal commitment to the University of Iowa on July 4th. Entering his senior season at Hononegah High School in Roscoe, IL, Cassioppi has risen in the recruiting ranks in leaps and bounds.  This summer he was undefeated in competition including winning titles in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman at Junior Nationals in Fargo and Folkstyle Nationals to win a Triple Crown. Cassioppi also won the Freestyle and Greco-Roman titles at the Junior Pan-Am Championships in Lima Peru and was undefeated at Junior Duals and Disney Duals.

Cassioppi is joined by commit Nelson Brands of Iowa City, IA (West HS) in the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2018.  National Letter of Intent Signing Day is Wednesday, November 8.
