Iowa Wrestling will have an Open Practice on Saturday before the Minnesota football game.  The doors of the Iowa Wrestling room will open at 10:30 AM and practice will be from 11 AM-12:30 PM.  Members of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club will also be working out.  Iowa Wrestling has had an Open Mat before football games already this season when wrestlers worked out on their own. The main difference is that this will be an official structured practice with Coach Brands addressing the team at the beginning.  You will be able to tell by the intensity in the room that this is an official practice.  With wrestle offs being the following week on November 3-4, the intensity will be even higher.  You will see some very physical and intense Iowa-style wrestling.

The bleachers will be pulled out and fans are welcomed to attend.  I always see Iowa wrestlers and coaches talking to fans and taking pictures after practice.  This is as close as you can get to Iowa Wrestling.

The Iowa-Minnesota football game has a kickoff time of 5:30 PM.  This will be a great opportunity for Iowa Wrestling fans to come into town for a practice without the hassle of full blown gameday traffic.  Also, attending an Iowa Wrestling practice is a part of the gameday experience for Iowa Football fans.  I cannot recommend enough that if you have never been to an Iowa Wrestling practice on a football Saturday, you are missing out.  It is a great experience and just before the season is about to begin.  The timing could not be any better.

My follow up blogs about the practices on Saturday have been very popular so I will again have a blog about this practice.

Hope to see you there.

It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.
