Four members of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club will be competing at the Dave Schultz Memorial International in Colorado Springs this weekend.  From my understanding the Schultz and Sunkist Kids Open have flipped spots on the schedule so that now the Schultz is the official kickoff for the International wrestling season.

The level of competition from international teams will be at a much higher level than in past years.  This looks to be a great tournament to begin the international freestyle season.

The Hawkeye Wrestling Club will be represented by Chris Dardanes (61 kg/134 lbs.), Patrick Downey III (86 kg/189 lbs.), Nathan Burak (97 kg/213 lbs.), and Lauren Louive (59 kg/ 130 lbs.).

The women’s division began on Thursday.  Louive defeated Kim of Korea, 11-4 to advance to the semifinals at 59 kg.
