Incoming Iowa Wrestling recruit Nelson Brands of Iowa City, IA (West HS) will be competing at the Western Regional in Las Vegas. Brands will be competing at 160 lbs. The Western Regional is apart of the huge weekend of wrestling at the South Point Arena that will include the U.S. Open for Men’s and Women’s Freestyle and Greco-Roman. The Western Region Freestyle tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 27-28.
Brands won his third Iowa high school state title in February and is currently ranked 10th in the country at 160 lbs. by Intermat. Brands is joined by Anthony Cassioppi and Joe Kelly as the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2018.
