Jeremiah Moody and Anthony Cassioppi of the University of Iowa will be competing at the Junior Pan American Championships in Fortaleza, Brazil, August 17-19.  Moody will be competing at 74 kg/163 lbs. in Freestyle. Cassioppi will be competing at 130 kg/286lbs. in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman.

Moody, who will be a redshirt junior this fall from Cambridge, Wisconsin, was very impressive in winning the UWW Junior National title in Las Vegas in April.  Moody went on to place second at the UWW Junior World Team Trials. Moody was 13-4 last season competing at 165.

Cassioppi, from Hononegah High School (Roscoe, IL), will be a true freshman when classes begin next week. Cassioppi wrapped up a very impressive high school career this summer by winning his second straight Triple Crown by winning national titles in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman.  At the 2017 Junior Pan Ams in Lima, Peru, Cassioppi dominated in winning the Gold medal in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman.

The Greco-Roman competition will take place on Friday, August 17.  Women’s Freestyle is on Saturday and Men’s Freestyle competition will be on Sunday, August 19.
