It was a big weekend for Iowa Wrestling recruits. Abe Assad was 3-0 with three pins. Zach Glazier is wrestling at 195 and 220. A notable match for Glazier was a 19-4 tech fall over the #8 wrestler in the state in 3A at 195. The Winona Invitational was cancelled due to weather so Patrick Kennedy will start his season this weekend.
Cullan Schriever won the 120 lbs. title at the always tough Keith Young and was named as O.W. for the tournament. Colby Schriever had a good showing in placing second at 138. Ryan Sokol had a fall in the dual meet against Apple Valley on Friday and two falls and a major decision on Saturday at the New Prague Invitational. Jesse Ybarra will be in a dual meet tournament this weekend.
