Three Iowa Hawkeyes won titles at the Loras Open in Dubuque, Iowa today. Vince Turk stormed through the field at 141 with two falls and two major decisions. Turk defeated Ryan Leisure of Iowa State by a 19-6 major decision in the finals.
Nelson Brands won the title at 165 with two falls, a tech fall, and two decisions. Brands defeated Tyler Dow of Wisconsin in the finals, 4-2.
It was an all-Iowa final at Hwt where Tony Cassioppi defeated Aaron Costello 2-0 for the title. Cassioppi was 5-0 for the day with three pins and two decisions.
Two Hawks placed second with Zach Axmear at 149 and Sam Cook at 197. Aaron Meyer placed fourth at 141. Cam Shaver (141) and Preston Stephenson (165) placed eighth. Aaron Cashman (125), Joe Kelly (157), and Tristan McDonald (174) did not place.
