The Arctic Plunge 2019 was a great success for the Hawkeye Wrestling Club. After watching the Hawks shutout Maryland 48-0 Friday night, fans made their way to the Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville to challenge the weather to support the Hawkeye Wrestling Club.

Hawkeye Wrestling Club President Randy Novak:

2019 was probably the coldest Arctic Plunge we have had with temperatures around 0 outside. But that didn’t seem to bother our group of Plungers who braved the weather and cold water to support the HWC!

This event has grown into our largest fundraiser of the year, and we were able to raise over $150,000 for the club.  Special thanks to HWC Board member Ryan Key for heading up this event.

Save the date for the next HWC event, our annual Banquet which will be held on Friday, May 17 at the Kirkwood Hotel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Silent Auction, good drinks, and a great time.

What a great example of the spirit of the Iowa Wrestling Nation.  Thank you to all of the donors, plungers, and volunteers that worked so hard to make this event such a success in challenging conditions.

It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

Go Hawks!
