Iowa Wrestling recruits Jesse Ybarra and Ryan Sokol will be competing at Cadet Nationals this weekend. This tournament will also serve as the Cadet World Team Trials. The winner of this tournament will represent Team USA at the UWW Cadet World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria on July 29-August 4. UWW Cadet is ages 16 and under.
All of the action will take place in the Louis and Freda Stile Athletic House on the campus of the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. Sokol is competing in Greco-Roman on Friday. Sokol and Ybarra will both compete in Freestyle on Saturday and Sunday. FloWrestling will live stream all of the matches.
Jesse Ybarra of Tucson, AZ (Sunnyside HS) is in the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2020 and will compete at 55kg/121 lbs. Ryan Sokol of Inver Grove Heights, MN (Simley HS) is in the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2021 and will compete at 60kg/132 lbs.
