Kayla Miracle of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club will be representing Team USA at 62 kg at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.  The Women’s wrestling will be on Friday, August 9 starting at 10 AM. USA will have teams competing in men’s and women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman. 

Only Olympic weights will be contested so this event is called the Pan American Games instead of Championships.  This event is held once every four years.  The teams were made up of 2019 World Team members at the Olympic weights.  

Miracle will represent Team USA at the Senior World Freestyle Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan on August 14-22 and at the U23 World Freestyle Championships in Budapest, Hungary on October 28-November 3. 

Former Iowa national champions Terry Steiner and Troy Steiner will be coaches for Team USA at the Pan American Games.  Terry is the U.S. Women’s Head Freestyle Coach and Troy is the head wrestling coach at Fresno State.
