As Iowa Wrestling fans, we have a lot of action coming up on the calendar over the next few months.  The Hawkeye Wrestling Club practice on Saturday is when I recognize the beginning of a new season. Practice begins at Noon and the doors open at 11 AM.  I am expecting a real good crowd.

I wanted to take a look at upcoming dates for us to keep in mind. Some of my best memories of being an Iowa Wrestling fan over the years is attending an Iowa Wrestling practices before home football games.  There is a buzz in the air of anticipation for the upcoming season. There is also excitement about the potential matchups for wrestle offs and who made a huge improvement over the off-season.

FloWrestling will bring their Who’s #1 event to Carver Hawkeye Arena on Saturday, October 5 at 5 PM.  This is a great event that matches #1 vs. #2 at each weight with the best high school wrestles in the country.  This is a great event that you do not want to miss.

Iowa did have wrestle offs last season on November 1-2, a Thursday and Friday.  The finals last year was the biggest crowd I have ever seen for wrestle offs. I have not heard anything about wrestle offs yet for this year, but I will keep you posted.

The National Letter of Intent Signing Day is Wednesday, November 13.  Iowa has a very, very good class coming in for the Recruiting Class of 2020.  That is the day that everything becomes official. Iowa has received verbal commitments from Patrick Kennedy, Jesse Ybarra, Cullen Schriever, Colby Schriever, and Gabe Chistenson.
