The calendar may have just turned to October, but this is a big weekend for Iowa Wrestling fans.  With the best high school wrestlers in the country coming to town and a Hawkeye Wrestling Club event, Saturday, October 5  will be a big day.

The 11th Annual Hawkeye Wrestling Club Shoot will be held on Saturday in Riverside Iowa.  The event will begin with registration from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Highland Hideaway Hunting Club.  The shooting begins at 10 AM. Lunch, awards, and a raffle will take place at Noon.

Coaches and members of the HWC will be present.  All proceeds go to support the Hawkeye Wrestling Club. Door prizes and a meal will be included in the admission fee.

To register and for more information on the Hawkeye Wrestling Club Shoot go to:

Who’s #1 by FloWrestling will be at 5 PM on Saturday in Carver Hawkeye Arena. The top high school wrestlers in the country will be matched up in bouts of #1 vs. #2.

Iowa Wrestling fans will especially be excited to watch incoming recruits Patrick Kennedy (170 lbs.) and Jesse Ybarra (120 lbs.) compete.  Paddy Gallagher, #1 on my Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Wish List, will be competing at 160 lbs.

Dan Gable and Adeline Gray will be special guests at Who’s #1. Gable and Gray will be available for autographs and pictures.  Doors at Carver open at 4 PM. The jumbotron above the mat in Carver will be playing the Flo documentary Terry about Terry Brands and various wrestling videos and highlights.  This will be a great environment for wrestling fans.

The attendance record for Who’s #1 is 1,500. I am hoping we can more than double that record and make a case that Flo will host Who’s #1 in Carver again next year.

You can buy tickets at the door for Who’s #1 or order below.  This is a great event that you do not want to miss.
