Jacob Warner has been named as the Iowa Wrestling Fan Blog & Podcast Wrestler of the Week.  Warner had a big win at Princeton on Sunday over #2 ranked Patrick Brucki.  The match was 3-3 to start the third period. Brucki got an escape for a 4-3 lead.  Warner scored the winning takedown with :03 left in the match on a great shot and finish for a 5-4 win.

From HawkeyeSports.com:

“As the match went on I felt stronger and stronger, “ Warner said. “I got that takedown and I was a dog on a bone.  I got to that leg, and I need to get there more, but when I got to that leg I wasn’t letting go.”

That was a big win for Warner who lost to Brucki last year.  That last takedown was a great move that we will see again.  Warner showed emotion after the match that I have not seen before, and I liked it. This was the match that fans like me were waiting to see from Jacob Warner.

Warner is a redshirt sophomore from Tolono, IL (Washington High School) and was an All American last season at 197 when he placed seventh in the country.
