InterMat released their new rankings.  The gap between Iowa and the rest of the country continues to widen as the Hawks make their way through the Big Ten schedule.  The Hawks going on the road and scoring a 41-0 shutout at then #8 ranked Purdue was impressive. I do not remember seeing such a big gap between the second and third ranked teams in the country.  That is a huge drop off.

After only two varsity matches, Abe Assad is new in the rankings at #10 at 184 lbs.  Assad looked very good at Midlands and last weekend. When your lowest ranked wrestler is at #10, you have quite a team.

There were not a lot of changes in the new rankings with Lee and Lugo at #1 and DeSanto, Marinelli, and Kemerer at #2. With seven wrestlers in the top four and nine in the top six, there is not a lot of room to complain or debate about in these rankings.  I feel as though they are fair.
