We have been waiting for this dual meet since the Big Ten schedule was announced on June 4, 2019.  It is finally here: Iowa-Penn State in legendary Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Friday night, January 31, 2020. 8 PM CST.  It’s on.

The University of Iowa Athletic Department announced on December 6 that tickets for the Iowa-Penn State dual meet were sold out.  Over 15,000 tickets sold. In the same press release it was also announced that Iowa Wrestling season tickets had been sold out at a record 7,715.

Yea, Iowa Wrestling fans are excited.  Iowa is the overwhelming #1 team in the country in every ratings out there.  As fans, we are enjoying the greatest home schedule in the history of Iowa Wrestling.  Iowa Wrestling fans, we should be excited.    

The Iowa-Penn State dual meet will include twelve All Americans and eighteen ranked wrestlers. E-V-E-R-Y match is huge in a dual meet like this. I have picked out the most obvious featured matches.  What more can you ask for? Back to back matches of #1 vs. #2 at 165 and 174. Marinelli-Joseph. Kemerer-Hall. Add in DeSanto-RBY. I am looking forward to Assad-Brooks more than any other match. Brands-Sanderson in the coaching matchup. Oh, is this going to be entertaining.

I am expecting one of the greatest crowds in Iowa Wrestling and college wrestling history.  This will be one amazing atmosphere in person and also watching it on TV.

I do not know what else to say except that you really do not want to miss this dual meet.
