It was a great weekend for incoming Iowa Wrestling recruits. Jesse Ybarra captured his third state title by winning the 126 lbs. weight class with three pins and a major decision. Leif Schroeder became the 36th wrestler in Montana history to become a four-time state champion. Schroeder had three first period pins before winning the 138 lbs. title with a tech fall.
Cullan Schriever, Gabe Christenson, Caleb Rathjen, and Cam Lucero all won district tournaments and Colby Schriever placed second to qualify for their state tournament next week. Patrick Kennedy was 3-0 in State Duals.
Bretli Reyna and Wyatt Henson did not compete this weekend.
With five incoming recruits competing at State, next weekend will be fun to follow.
