Cam Lucero of Pagosa Springs, Colorado has joined the Hawkeye Wrestling Club. Lucero was a member of the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2021. Lucero will train with the HWC and join the Iowa Wrestling program next season.
Lucero was a three-time state champion and four-time state finalist for Pagosa Springs High School who won their first state team title in school history last season. Lucero was a state runner-up at 132 as a freshman, a state champ at 145 as a sophomore, a state champ at 152 as a junior and won a title at 160 this past season.
Lucero is projected to compete at 157/165 for the Hawks.
Lucero was recently named as the 3A Wrestler Of the Year by the Colorado Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for the 2020-2021 season.
