The University of Iowa Wrestling program will have practice open to the public on Saturday, October 16 at 10AM in the Iowa Wrestling Room in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. This is Homecoming weekend and the football team will host Purdue with a 2:30 kickoff. The official start of the practice season began on Monday so this will be a full practice with the Iowa Wrestling team.

Attending an Iowa Wrestling practice is a part of the game day experience for a lot of Iowa Football fans. The 10AM starting time will also allow wrestling fans to come into town just for the practice and leave town before the football game begins.

If you have never been to an Iowa Wrestling practice I highly recommend it.  To me attending a practice especially at this time of year equals or maybe surpasses a big home dual meet. You will see some tough wrestling and intense flurries. I expect to see former Iowa wrestlers in the crowd which always adds to the experience. This will be the first time that a lot of fans will be able to see in person all of our new members to the program from the Recruiting Class of 2020 and 2021.

The energy around Iowa athletics may be at an all time high right now. The vibe in that town on a football Saturday is awesome. Add in that Iowa Wrestling is the defending NCAA National champions and the preseason #1 and you will have a great time as a fan attending this practice.

Iowa Wrestling kicks off the 2021-22 season with a home dual meet against Princeton on November 19 at 7PM.
