Joel Jesuroga committed to the University of Iowa to become a member of the outstanding Recruiting Class of 2022. Jesuroga won a state title last year at 145 for Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, Iowa) and placed fourth as a sophomore at 132. He is projected to compete at 149/157 for Iowa. Younger brother Nate committed to the Hawks on October 9.
Joel took his official visit in what has become a very successful recruiting weekend for Iowa on October 9-10. Jesuroga chose the Hawks over Nebraska, UNI, and North Carolina.
Jesuroga is ranked #23 at 145 lbs. and #154 on the Senior Big Board for the Class of 2022 by MatScouts.
In addition to brother Nate, Jesuroga will also be joined by Class of 2022 teammates Carter and Carson Martinson also of Southeast Polk on the Iowa Wrestling team.
Iowa has now received a commitment from thirteen wrestlers since the end of September and they are not done yet. I am confident that the Iowa Wrestling coaching staff is still out on the recruiting trail.
The future certainly looks bright for Iowa wrestling.
