The Hawkeye Open scheduled for Sunday, January 2 has been cancelled.
15 members of the University of Iowa Wrestling program will compete in the inaugural Hawkeye Open on Sunday, January 2. The action will take place in the Xtreme Arena in Coralville, Iowa. The doors open at 10 AM and wrestling begins at 11 AM through the completion of competition.
There will be a Men’s and Women’s tournament that will draw competitors from around the country. The Hawkeye Open is being put together in a very quick manner due to the cancellation of the 2021 Midlands Championships. We are hoping this is the start to a long time tradition for the Hawkeye Open.
A complete field of teams and unattached wrestles will be released on Friday, December 31.
