The top ranked Iowa Hawkeyes will travel to Niceville, Florida to compete in the Collegiate Wrestling Duals. The Hawks will compete in three dual meets against some very good competition. Iowa will face off with Central Michigan at 6 PM and Lehigh at 8 PM on Monday, December 20. Should Iowa win both of those dual meets they will then compete against the winner of the top side of the Red Pool bracket at 5 PM on Tuesday, December 21. That will probably be North Carolina State or Missouri. As a note all times are CST.

In the Dual Meet rankings Lehigh is #21, North Carolina State is #5 and Missouri is #10. Iowa is ranked #1 in both Dual Meet and Tournament Rankings by InterMat.

Iowa fans are eagerly awaiting the season debut of Spencer Lee and Michael Kemerer. Lee is on the roster released by the University of Iowa for the Collegiate Wrestling Duals listed below, Kemerer is not. Your guess is as good as mine if we will see either of those elite wrestlers compete. I know the prize is in Detroit for the NCAA’s but as a fan I cannot wait to see those two compete.

I am hoping we see Abe Assad at 184. Iowa needs to score points at 184 to win the team title and I believe Assad is our best option. Assad competed at the Luther Open and in an extra dual meet match in November. I am a big fan of Abe Assad who has a ton of potential and I want to see him in there. It’s time.

You can watch all of the dual meets on the premium service of Rokfin:

Iowa will be tested in these duals and I am looking for an entertaining two days of wrestling.
