It was another very good weekend for incoming Iowa Wrestling recruits. You have to start with Aiden Riggins who went 6-0 at the Battle of Waterloo with two pins, two tech falls, a major decision and a decision. Riggins started the tournament by defeating 1A #1 ranked Maximus Magayna 8-2. Riggins later defeated 2A #1 ranked Nicholas Fox by a 14-4 Major Decision. That is a great day for Riggins who makes Hawkeye fans more excited about his future with every passing tournament.
Ryder Block was 5-0 for the day at the Battle of Waterloo with three pins, a tech fall, and a major decision. Drake Rhodes was 4-0 with three pins and a 17-2 tech fall in the finals to win the CMR Holiday Tournament. Easton Fleshman was 4-0 with three pins in winning the Austin Roberts Memorial Tournament. Brad Hill was 3-0 for the day with two pins and a tech fall.
In other notable matches Joel Jesuroga went up a weight class to 152 and defeated three-time state champion Robert Avila of Iowa City West 6-2. Carson Martinson was 4-1 with four pins. He dropped a 9-7 decision to Hunter Garvin of Iowa City West. Garvin is ranked #3 in the country at 152 lbs.
