Val Solorio committed to the University of Iowa Women’s Wrestling program on September 30 as a member of the Recruiting Class of 2024. She is ranked #5 at 100 lbs. in the most recent National Girls High School Rankings. Solorio will begin the season at the Women of Ironman this Saturday and Sunday, December 9-10.
Solorio was a 16U National champion in 2021. She competed on the first two women’s cards for Who’s #1 in 2021 and 2022. In the final Girls National High School Rankings for the 2023 season Solorio was ranked 4th at 100 lbs.
Solorio moved from Panama City Beach, Florida where she won a state title in 2022 and will compete for Canon-McMillan High School in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania for her senior season.
The PIAA Girls Championships in Hersey will be the first one ever in Pennsylvania on March 7-9.
