Members of the Iowa Wrestling team consisting of redshirt and true freshman rolled through the Missouri Valley College Open in Marshall, Missouri.  All eight of the Iowa Wrestlers were in the finals with an all-Iowa final in two weights which led to five champs and three runner-ups.

Perez Perez at 125 scored a pin and a major decision before getting a pin in 6:43 in the finals.  It was an all-Iowa finals at 141.  Carter Happel made it to the finals with two major decisions and a fall.  Brock Rathbun made his way to the finals with a decision and two falls.  In the finals, Happel defeated Rathbun my a major decision, 14-2.

Keegan Shaw won the title at 149 with three falls and a technical fall.  Matt Malcom recorded two tech falls, a fall, and a major decision before losing in the finals by a fall to Colton DiBlasi of Iowa State to place second.  At 165, Alex Marinelli scored three falls and Kaleb Young scored two falls to meet in the finals. Marinelli downed Young 5-4 to win the title.  Joel Northrup won the title at 174 with a fall and technical fall before winning in the finals by a major decision, 15-5.

The Iowa squad posted a combined 27-3 record on the day with fifteen falls, six major decisions, four technical falls, and two decisions.

The next competition for this group of redshirt and true freshman Iowa Wrestlers will probably we Junior World Team Trials in June.
