Members of the Iowa Wrestling team will be competing at the Pat “Flash” Flanagan Open in Dubuque Saturday. Loras College is the host school and the action begins at 9 AM. I have covered the Hawks in this tournament for the past several years.
This will be the college debut of true freshman Aaron Cashman. I have mentioned Cashman in my Iowa Wrestling Fan Blog and Podcast several times. Cashman has looked very good in the practice room. Cashman was a state champion in Minnesota as a junior and then spent his senior year training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
Cashman is very quick and I believe he is a very underrated recruit. Cashman is the quickest wrestler in the Iowa Wrestling room right now. Minor injuries have kept Cashman out of competition this season. I am looking forward to seeing what Cashman does in competition.
