Mother Nature was in full force and resulted in several cancellations. We had only three incoming recruits compete this weekend. Jesse Ybarra won the Flowing Wells Invitational with three pins, a tech fall, and an 8-1 decision in the finals. Cam Lucero was 5-0 with two pins to win the Mel Smith Husky Tournament. Leif Schroeder had to injury default from the Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic.
Patrick Kennedy, Cullan and Colby Schriever, Gabe Christenson, and Caleb Rathjen had their tournament cancelled due to a blizzard. I have not heard of any makeup dates at this time. I will do my best to keep you up to date on this. Bretli Reyna and Wyatt Henson did not have any competition scheduled for this weekend.
We are winding down the regular season for high school wrestling. Conference tournaments and the postseason are now here. The incoming Iowa Wrestling recruits are having a great season.
