InterMat has released their rankings to get us into the new season. Iowa is ranked number one for both the tournament and dual meet rankings. For the tournament rankings the Big Ten has six of the top ten ranked teams.
The Hawks have seven wrestlers ranked in the top three and eight in the top six. Spencer Lee is ranked number one with Eierman, Marinelli and Kemerer at second, DeSanto, Warner, and Cassioppi at third, and Young at sixth.
It was recently announced that the Big Ten Network will be using InterMat rankings for their broadcasts.
Iowa will host #21 Princeton in the home opener at 7PM Friday, November 19. Anticipation for the upcoming season is at an all-time high for Iowa Wrestling with over 14,000 season tickets already sold.
