InterMat released their new rankings. It is still Penn State-Iowa for 1-2 in both the Tournament and Dual rankings. Both Penn State and Iowa went down in point totals from last week. Penn State is 16 points ahead of Iowa.

We have new teams at 3-4. Missouri is now #3 and Cornell is at #4. The Dual Meet rankings stayed the same with Penn State-Iowa-Ohio State-Arizona State.

Three Hawkeyes went up in the rankings this week. Cobe Siebrecht went from 25 to 24, Nelson Brands 15 to 14 and Tony Cassioppi 4 to 3.

Iowa wrestlers that dropped in the rankings were Brody Teske 12 to 14, Patrick Kennedy 13 to 14, and Jacob Warner 2 to 6.

All of the other Iowa wrestlers remained the same in the rankings from last week. #1 ranked Spencer Lee and #2 ranked Real Woods, Max Murin is #6 and Abe Assad at #8.

When I see Iowa only 16 points behind Penn State in these rankings in early December with Warner at 6, Kennedy at 14, Brands at 14, and Siebrecht at 24, I nothing short of love it. Lot of livin to do between now and the NCAA National Tournament more than three months from now. Steady as she goes Iowa Wrestling. Steady as she goes.

Iowa will be on the road at Chattanooga for a dual meet on Saturday at 6 PM CST.
