It was the last full weekend of tournaments in the regular season for our incoming Iowa Wrestling recruits. Ryder Block had two pins to win the 138 lbs. title at the Northeast Iowa Conference Tournament.
Ben Kueter and Gabe Arnold won titles at the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament at Waterloo West. Kueter had pins in 0:09 and 0:27 before a 15-0 tech fall in the finals at 220.
Arnold defeated Tate Naaktgeboren of Linn-Mar, TB-1 3-2 to win the title at 182. Arnold is now 3-0 against Naaktgeboren this season. Arnold is ranked #3 and Naaktgeboren is #5 nationally at 182 by MatScouts. I am sure they will meet in the state finals for round number four.
Kale Petersen was at the Charger Invitational in Guthrie Center. I will update this blog as soon as I have results. Keyan Hernandez did not compete today.
