I want to take a look at the remaining competitions as the regular season begins to wrap up.

We are down to just three dual meets to finish out the regular season. The Hawks will travel to Minnesota for an always competitive dual meet on Friday night February 3 at 8 PM. Minnesota is fresh off of a 24-9 win over Illinois where they won seven of ten matches. You can always count on intense and entertaining matches in the border rivalry of Iowa-Minnesota.

29 of the final 30 opponents Iowa will face in these three dual meet matches are ranked in the top 33 in the country.  33 is the number of NCAA Qualifiers per weight class at Nationals. So all but one match is the equivalent of a match at the NCAA National Tournament.

I like where Iowa Wrestling is at right now. I believe the best is yet to come by a large margin for this year’s Iowa Wrestling team that will peak at the NCAA National Tournament. I am confident about Iowa Wrestling for a reason and I should be.

Let’s get ’em in the middle.
