Ryder Block won his second straight Junior National title at 138 lbs. with a 10-0 tech fall over Daniel Zepeda of California. Block needed just 1:19 to secure the tech fall in what was a dominating tournament. Overall Block was 7-0 with five tech falls, a fall, and a decision.

With the frame that Block has it is only a guess what weight he will end up at in college and International competition. Whatever the weight this wrestler has a great future ahead of him in the Black and Gold of Iowa Wrestling.

Kale Petersen  dropped his finals match to Kyler Larkin of Arizona, 8-0. Impressive tournament for Petersen who ended up going 7-1 with three tech falls. Petersen had a really good freestyle season and served notice that he is much better than the national rankings may have shown. Gotta like that Iowa grit this guy has.

Koye Grebel (138) and Keyan Hernandez (120) did not place.

Block, Petersen and Grebel are in the Recruiting Class of 2023 and Hernandez is in the Class of 2024.

Iowa Assistant Coach Ryan Morningstar served as a coach for Team Iowa as he has done for years.
