We are in the dog days of summer in the hottest time of the year. Wrestling recruiting? You bet. Recruiting is my passion and the foundation of what I do on this blog. I was pumped up to see MatScouts release their new rankings following all of the competition in Fargo.
Iowa Wrestling has some serious quality of recruits that have committed to be a member of the Recruiting Class of 2024.
The first to commit in the Class of 2024 was Keyan Hernandez of Billings, Montana (Billings West HS). Hernandez won his third straight state title last season and had a good summer competing at Junior Duals and Cadet Nationals at 120. He is not ranked in the new MatScouts rankings.
Miguel Estrada committed to the Hawks in May. He is a three-time state champ from Frontier High School in Bakersfield, California. His most recent title last season was at 145 lbs. Estrada is ranked #3 at 145 by MatScouts.
Angelo Ferrari, the #1 overall ranked recruit in the Class of 2024 by Flo, committed to the University of Iowa on May 31. He won a state title at 175 for Melissa High School in Texas last season. Ferrari was ranked #1 at 170 by MatScouts in their old rankings. In the new rankings just released Ferrari is #2 at 182. Ferrari dropped out of the Top 20 P4P ranking by MatScouts since the last rankings.
As I have done for years I will be letting fans like you know when and where our incoming recruits will be competing this upcoming season as well as posting results.
I have no doubt that Iowa will be adding to the Recruiting Class of 2024. I will keep you posted here on my Iowa Wrestling Fan Blog.

Angelo Ferrari – 182 lbs. 2nd
Miguel Estrada – 145 lbs. 3rd
Keyan Hernandez – 120 lbs. Not ranked
