Gabe Arnold of the University of Iowa has been named as the NCAA Wrestler of the Week. At 174 lbs. Arnold defeated #11 ranked Travis Wittlake of Oregon State on Sunday, 4-2.
This was the first match for Arnold in legendary Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Arnold is 6-0 with three tech falls and a major decision.
Arnold is a true freshman from Albany Georgia. I have been talking quite a bit about this guy on my blog since he committed to the Hawks. I predicted he would be a crowd favorite and he certainly is.
What a future Gabe Arnold has for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Iowa will compete next in Ames Sunday, November 26 at 2 PM for a big dual meet with Iowa State. The meet will be televised by ESPN.
