That didn’t take long. Just two weeks into the season for the new program and the NWCA/NCAA Women’s Wrestling Coaches Poll has the Iowa Hawkeyes at #1 with thirteen ranked wrestlers. Iowa now has a ranked wrestler at all ten weights.

Iowa is listed with 116 points at #1 followed by North Central at 110 and King at 89 points.

Iowa has Reese Larramendy (143) and Kylie Welker (170) ranked #1. Emilie Gonzalez (100), Ava Bayless (109), Felicity Taylor (123), Nanea Estrella (136) and Ella Schmit (143) are ranked #2. That is a lot of potential points at the National Tournament.

The Hawks have dismantled four ranked teams and have been dominating. I am not surprised at all with the new rankings.

Iowa will be in Marshall, Missouri on Friday and Saturday competing at the Missouri Valley Open.
