Sterling Dias of the University of Iowa Women’s Wrestling team has been named as the NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) Region 5 Wrestler of the Month. Dias is now eligible for the NWCA National Wrestler of the Month for December that will be announced on Thursday. 

Dias is ranked #2 in the country at 101 lbs. with an 18-1 record. She was 9-0 in December with four pins and three tech falls. Dias led top ranked Iowa to an NWCA National Duals championship last weekend. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Dias is in her second year in the program as a redshirt freshman.

Dias was a 2016 and 2017 Pan-American Schoolgirl Champion, 2018 Cadet World Bronze Medalist, and 2019 Cadet World Silver Medalist.
