The University of Iowa Women’s Wrestling team is set to compete at the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships (NCWWC) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 8-9.

Forty-nine teams from across the country will be competing for All American status in the Alliant Energy Power House on Friday and Saturday. Last year thirty-seven teams competed at Nationals.

Iowa enters their first National tournament in program history ranked #2 in the country.

Iowa has thirteen of the fifteen wrestlers that qualified seeded in the top eight.

The Hawks have three wrestlers with the #1 seed: Emilie Gonzalez(101), Marlynne Deede(155), and Kylie Welker(170). 

Sterling Dias(101), Ava Bayless(109), and Reese Larramendy(143) are the #2 seed.

Only ten wrestlers and one from each weight will be able to score points at the NCWWC Championships.
