The Iowa Women’s Wrestling team won the NCWWC and National Duals titles in their first season of competition in 2024. Between a solid incoming Recruiting Class of 2024 and an elite transfer class the Hawks will have an even better lineup this season.

The biggest addition would be transfer Kennedy Blades who just won Silver at the Paris Olympics at 76kg/167 lbs. Blades is a 2021 U20 world champion and a 2023 U20 bronze medalist. At only 20 years old Blades has a great career ahead of her for Iowa and Team USA.

Macy Kilty is another elite transfer for the program. Kilty won Silver at 65kg/143 lbs. at the 2023 Senior World Championships and was a 2018 Cadet World champion. She has won five age-level World medals for Team USA.

For the Recruiting Class of 2024 I look for Karlee Brooks(124) and Cadence Diduch(138) to make an immediate impact in the starting lineup.

The biggest question is what weight will all of these elite wrestlers compete at. The weight classes have changed from last season and I believe that it is only speculation as to what weight everyone will be competing at.

The biggest question would be Kennedy Blades and Kylie Welker. I predict that Welker will be at 160 and Blades at 180. Iowa will have an amazing lineup.
