Zach Glazier announced that he is transferring to South Dakota State for his final year of wrestling. Glazier was an NCAA Qualifier and a Big Ten runner-up at 197 lbs. last season for the Hawks.
Glazier was 25-4 last season with two pins, seven tech falls and seven major decisions. He was also 10-4 against nationally ranked opponents.
Glazier is originally from Albert Lea, Minnesota where he was a two-time state champion for Albert Lea Area High School.
At Iowa Glazier was a three-time Letterwinner and Academic All American the last two seasons. He was also named to the Dean’s List in 2022. Last season Glazier was recognized as an NWCA Academic All American.
Iowa has not released their official roster for the 2024-25 season. The only wrestler that will be listed at 197 will be true freshman Brody Sampson of Ballard High School in Huxley, Iowa.
I will keep you up to date when the new roster is released as well as any news of transfers coming into the Iowa Wrestling program.
It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.
Go Hawks!
