The University of Iowa Women’s Wrestling team will have their home opener on Saturday, November 16 with the Trailblazer Duals. The Hawks will face Cornell College at 1:30 PM and William Jewell at 2PM.
Cornell College is in the second year of their program. Their roster has twelve of seventeen wrestlers as freshmen with eight wrestlers from Iowa.
William Jewel is ranked #21 in the NWCA Pre-Season Rankings with Alex Waitsman ranked #5 at 124 and Emily Mendez #10 at 110.
Iowa broke the attendance record for a college women’s wrestling event during last season’s Trailblazer Duals with 8,207 fans in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The duals will be streamed on B1G+ and Steven Grace will call the duals live on Hawkeye Sports Radio.
