It was great news when Leo DeLuca committed to Iowa on December 4, 2023. DeLuca is from Morristown, New Jersey and competes for national powerhouse Blair Academy.
Currently DeLuca is ranked #1 in the rankings by MatScouts and FloWrestling at 120 lbs.
DeLuca won a Junior National title in 2023 at 120 lbs. and a Cadet National title at 113 in 2021.
DeLuca is projected to compete at 125 for Iowa.
Blair Academy competes in a schedule with the top high school tournaments every season. The season starts with the Ironman this weekend that is considered the toughest regular season tournament in the country.
Blair also competes in the Beast of the East and has a dual meet with St. Ed’s, Wyoming Seminary, and Lake Highland Prep. All national powerhouses.
As I have done for years I am following all of the incoming recruits for Iowa Wrestling throughout the high school season. I will start with a season preview this week and the high school season will be in full force this weekend.
I will have blog for our incoming recruits with a preview on Friday and follow up blog with results every weekend throughout the high school season.
