InterMat released updated rankings this morning. Iowa remained #2 in both the Tournament and Dual Meet Rankings.

The top four remained the same in both rankings. It is Penn State-Iowa-Oklahoma State-Nebraska in the Tournament Rankings and  Penn State-Iowa-Oklahoma State-Ohio State in the Dual Rankings.

Penn State went down 2.5 points and Iowa .5 points.

Iowa has nine wrestlers ranked in the top 33 which would be an NCAA Qualifier. There are seven Hawks ranked in the top six that would be an All American this year.

Apparently wins over higher ranked opponents did not affect where the Hawks are ranked. Joey Cruz has recently beat two wrestlers ranked above him, #18 Nicolar Rivera(Wisc) and #16 Brendan McCrone(OhSt), but is still only at #26.

Ben Kueter defeated the #6 ranked wrestler on Saturday and went from #12 to #11.

Ryder Block drops a match to the #1 ranked defending national champion and is no longer ranked.

Hard for me to understand rankings like that.

The Hawks are back in action this Friday, January 31 at Penn State at 6 PM CST on BTN.
