Ben Kueter is the #5 seed at Hwt.
Originally from Iowa City(City HS), Iowa, Kueter will be competing in his first NCAA Tournament as a redshirt freshman.
In the final InterMat Rankings on March 4 Kueter was ranked #11 at Hwt, his highest of the season.
Kueter is 18-6 with one pin, one tech fall and three major decisions against the toughest competition for any Hwt in the country.
At Big Tens Kueter placed third in a stacked weight.
Kueter has already competed against the top three ranked/seeded wrestlers at Hwt and that should help prepare him for Nationals.
In the first round Kueter will face #28 seed Daniel Herrera of Iowa State. Herrera did not compete in the Iowa-Iowa State dual meet.
The winner of that match will likely face #12 seed Nick Feldman of Ohio State in the Round of 16. Kueter topped Feldman 5-4 in the dual meet and 2-0 in the consolation semifinals at Big Tens.
As a Hawk fan you have to be excited about Kueter’s showing at Big Tens and his draw at Nationals. I know I sure am.
