Incoming Iowa recruit Otto Black won the 138 lbs. Greco-Roman title at the USA Wrestling Regional Championships series in Herriman, Utah. The top six place winners at each weight qualified for Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND in July.
Black was 6-0 with six tech falls. In the six matches Black outscored his opponents 72-4 and he held five opponents to 0 points.
Leister Bowling placed second in Greco-Roman at 175 lbs. Bowling was 4-1 with four tech falls.
In Freestyle Bowling placed third at 175 with a 7-1 record with six tech falls.
Black, from Park, Colorado, won a 138 lbs. 4A Colorado state title this season with a 52-0 record and is a member of the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2024.
He was a Junior Greco-Roman national champion at 126 in 2022 and 132 in 2023.
Bowling, from Longmont, Colorado, won a 175 lbs. state title for Mead High School. Bowling and Black were teammates and led Mead to the 4A Colorado state title this season.
Bowling is in the Iowa Wrestling Recruiting Class of 2025.
Black (63kg/138 lbs.) won U20 Greco-Roman Nationals and Bowling (77kg/169 lbs.) placed second in Las Vegas last month . They are now both qualified for U20 Greco-Roman World Team Trials on May 31-June 1 in Geneva, Ohio.
