It was a busy weekend of action for incoming Iowa Wrestling recruits in the tournament season. Jesse Ybarra placed second at 126 lb. at the Arizona state tournament. Abe Assad and Cobe Siebrecht both qualified for their State tournament. Assad place second at Sectionals and Siebrecht placed first at Districts.
Cullan and Colby Schriever both won their District to qualify for state. Zach Glazier and Patrick Kennedy both won a dual meet by fall. Ryan Sokol did not have any competition scheduled.
Assad will compete at the Illinois State Tournament on Thursday-Saturday. Siebrecht, Schriever, and Schriever will compete in the Iowa State Wrestling Tournament on Thursday-Saturday.
The action will really go up this weekend with the remaining recruits of Glazier, Kennedy, and Sokol entering into their tournament season.
