Iowa looked impressive in defeating Central Michigan and Lehigh at the Collegiate Wrestling Duals in Niceville Florida. The Hawks will face #6 North Carolina State at 5 PM CST today.

Iowa won 18 of 20 bouts on Monday. In the first meet Iowa shutout Central Michigan 44-0. The Hawks scored bonus points in six of their ten victories. Abe Assad recorded a pin in 2:22, Spencer Lee and Austin DeSanto recorded tech falls, Alex Marinelli won by disqualification due to stalling, Tony Cassioppi won by an injury default, and Max Murin won by a major decision.

Iowa then defeated #21 Lehigh 28-7. Austin DeSanto recorded another tech fall and Spencer Lee and Abe Assad won a major decision. In the biggest match #6 Tony Cassioppi defeated #8 Jordan Wood, 3-2.

The North Carolina State dual meet should be entertaining with some very good matches. The top match for me will be at 184 where unranked Abe Assad will face #3 Trent Hidlay. Also a big test for #8 Max Murin at 149 with #3 Tariq Wilson.

Michael Kemerer weighed in but did not compete on Monday. I do not expect to see him wrestle today. I would be surprised if Spencer Lee wrestled today. That would still have a matchup of ranked wrestlers at 6 of 10 weights. That should make for a very good dual meet.
