Iowa-Princeton and Army preview

Iowa will be at the Journeymen Wrestling Uncivil War in St. Charles, Missouri on Friday, December 6 against Princeton (6 PM) and Army (8 PM).

This will be the first time that Iowa has competed in a dual meet in Missouri.

Iowa is ranked #2 in the Tournament and Dual Meet Rankings by InterMat. Princeton and Army are not ranked.

The first thing that stands out in the Probable Lineups is that Iowa does not have a wrestler listed at 157. #1 Jacori Teemer was injured in the Iowa State meet on November 23. Princeton and Army do not have a ranked wrestler listed at 157.

Isaiah Fenton is listed at 157 on the roster but has not competed this season. Iowa has a lot of depth at 149 for wrestlers to move up. If I had to guess I would go with Caleb Rathje, an NCAA Qualifier at 149 last year, competing in at least one of the dual meets.

I am hoping to see true freshman Miguel Estrada and Kael Voinovich compete at 157 while Teemer is out of the lineup.

Defense Soap: Natural performance skincareDiamond Dental, P.C. Dentist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Iowa has Kael Petersen and Joy Cruz listed at 125 where Princeton and Army both have a ranked wrestler.

At 141 we have Ryder Block and Cullan Schriever both listed. Block is 2-2 on the season and Schriever has not competed this season. Princeton and Army both have a ranked wrestler.

Nelson Brands and Patrick Kennedy are both listed at 174.

For rankings the best matchup of the two duals will be at 149 with #4 Kyle Parco vs. #9 Ty Whalen of Princeton. We will also have #2 Michael Caliendo vs. #13 Gunner Filipowicz of Army at 165.

I will have a follow up blog with results.
